Our Story

MiauMall started in Japan, selling Japanese food, beauty and household products to customers overseas. Over several years that business grew into the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Canada, New Zealand and Australia, and we built the procurement, order handling, international logistics and warehousing needed to serve those markets properly.

Australia became an increasingly important part of that business. Demand was growing, but many Japanese products arrived through separate importers and resellers. Customers could find the products without learning much about the brands behind them, while manufacturers had limited say in how their ranges were presented and priced.

We wanted to give both customers and brands a more consistent experience. That meant having a team and stores here in Australia.

We established an Australian company and opened our first store at The Glen in Glen Waverley, followed by QV Melbourne. From these beginnings, we’ve continued to grow our Australian store network.

Our stores give brands a physical home in major Australian shopping centres. Products are presented with care, staff understand the range and pricing is agreed with the brand.

We also work with partners who are ready for their own stores. We respect each brand’s pricing, territory, store image and long-term plans, and can invest in dedicated locations while managing site selection, fit-out, recruitment, operations and marketing locally.
